Bill Hooper
Vice President and Technical Fellow
Bill Hooper serves as a Vice President and Technical Fellow for TSC. Within this role Mr. Hooper supports Product Development of RF sensors for Precision Weapons (PW) and serves as a strategic advisor on key programs to aid in PW product roadmap strategy, mitigate programmatic issues, and works to ensure transfer of institutional knowledge through mentorship.
Mr. Hooper earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and joined TSC as a cooperative education student in 1989. Since then, he has worked numerous programs, developing a broad range of engineering skills from software development, digital and analog circuit design, Radio Frequency (RF) design, and system architecture as well as business experience with program management, business development, and P&L responsibility.
Mr. Hooper has focused on sensor development throughout his career; he has designed various systems and subsystems for fielding and tests associated with ground-based radar, missiles, and aircraft, with a primary focus on products. In 2018, he led TSC’s efforts to open a production facility in Huntsville, AL. TSC produces a variety of assemblies in this facility, including radar backends, RF seekers, proximity/height-of-burst sensors, and receiver equipment. Prior to the production facility, Mr. Hooper established the initial manufacturing business at TSC, which produced assemblies for the Sentinel radar and airborne radar products.
