TSC has extensive experience supporting Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) programs for cruisers and destroyers equipped with Aegis Combat Systems. Our primary contributions are in the areas of technical systems engineering and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
Terminal High Altitude Area Defense
TSC has been an integral part of the THAAD program since the weapons systems inception back in the early nineties. Within the THAAD system program, TSC has cut across all the critical engineering areas: RF hardware/HWIL/interface development, software, system engineering and analysis.
Ballistic Missile Debris RCS Generator (DRG)
TSC has developed a Debris RCS Generator (DRG) that models missile intercept debris Radar Cross Section (RCS) signatures for high-fidelity simulations. DRG generates realistic RCS and Doppler signatures to support detailed discrimination algorithm design and evaluation, and provides an application programming interface (API) designed to ease the integration with simulation codes.
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has the responsibility for developing a Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from a ballistic missile attack. TSC is working with the MDA to develop advanced innovative physics-based concepts for improving the BMDS discrimination performance.
