Space-Time Adaptive Processing (STAP)

TSC developed STAP techniques to process GMTI surveillance radar data under Navy, DARPA and AFRL sponsored research and development programs for application to next-generation airborne surveillance platforms. STAP is a critical component of the radar design for canceling interference from clutter and jamming.

data displayTSC also developed interferometric techniques to estimate the terrain elevation directly from GMTI data to benefit knowledge-aided STAP algorithms. By nulling out clutter at specific 3-D locations, the STAP algorithms offer improved performance against ground moving targets. TSC has also developed the capability to simulate radar data cubes with high fidelity to evaluate end-to-end STAP performance for next generation systems. This includes an efficient and accurate way to model wind-blown clutter.
